Trading the fast pace of the city for the quiet countryside of Oita, we found ourselves immersing in the rhythm of a traditional Japanese ryokan. Wrapped in yukatas, with nothing on the schedule but hot springs and the crisp mountain air, Yufuin became our favorite reminder of how beautiful life is when you simply slow down together.

Location: Fujikawaguchiko & Fujiyoshida

While most look for Mount Fuji from the quiet rows of the outlets, we chose to view it upside down at 130 km/h from the peaks of Fuji-Q’s rollercoasters. It was a day dedicated to living loudly, chasing thrills, and embracing our youth.

The real magic happened in the afternoon. The heavy clouds that covered the valley all morning suddenly broke apart, revealing the grand mountain just as it caught its very first snowcap of the season at the peak. Shifting gears from the high-energy theme park to wander through the quiet, cinematic streets of Fujiyoshida, we left with a beautiful reminder that the best views come to those who enjoy the ride through the clouds.
